Artist Statement
My work is an extension of my life, my feelings, my hopes, my dreams and my fears. I enjoy experimenting with hand painted, dyed and printed fabrics and enjoy the freedom that comes from creating. Art quilts are my canvas. I employ raw edge applique in my pieces to create the images that compel me to keep on working in this wonderful fiber medium.
I started as a traditional quilter, learning the skills and the challenges of this unique craft form. In this way I learned to appreciate the skill that is required to create these very exact seams and angles that when joined created the exquisite and detailed quilts that I have seen on display in quilt shops and shows and sometimes in homes.
