Artist Statement
Jacqueline Kennedy (Onassis) was a fashion icon. This art quilt was inspired by her impeccable tastes, especially her triple strand simulated pearl necklace, white gloves, and the classic pink Chanel suit and matching pillbox hat captured in the images taken during her husband’s assassination.
Woman’s Groundbreaking Accomplishment
Jacqueline Kennedy’s contribution to the preservation of The White House resulted in a 1962 television program aired to over 56 million. She is the only first lady to have won an Emmy.
