Artist Statement
“Yes, you will do a beautiful job on this…even though it’s your first time to enter a quilt,” stated my quilting friend from Connecticut. So I was ‘hooked’ and began searching through the website. Remembering my childhood elementary eight years of instruction with Benedictine nuns in a small town in southern Colorado, I knew that Sister Alicia proved to be an excellent choice as I researched her biography of dedication which was initiated in Colorado and still exists today.

Be inspired by Sister Alicia Cuaron’s life history as a Peacemaker while she accomplished in creating a contagious atmosphere which embraced Ignorance, Education, and Justice.
Techniques
Original design, four identical fabric panels pinned and sewn together, machine decorative stitches for thread painting, machine and hand applique.
Materials
100% cotton fabrics, light and medium fusible interfacing, bamboo batting, 50+ solid-color, rayon and cotton threads including variegated.
