Artist Statement
My life’s stories are told in my needlework. Beginning with the little doll quilts I stitched as a child, my journey has crooks and twists as those first stitches did. Births and deaths, beautiful weddings and heart breaking divorces, disappointment and hurt, joy and laughter, family memories and fun vacations, God’s mercy and love, all of these chapters in my story are shared through my art.
Happy Potter has become part of my story. Created by the brilliant JK Rowling, my daughters and I have attended every midnight book release and movie premier with great excitement. We share the love for Hogwarts and Rowling’s wizarding world.
Quilts are my journal, my memoir, my inspiration, and my creation. I am honored to share the creation process with Ms. Rowling.
